Community Hall
There is a state-of-the-art sports hall located onsite. This large-scale facility is widely saught after all year round, being the popular location for concerts and events. Each year, the renowned Éigse na Brídeoige festival takes place on the Iveragh Peninsula, offering an exceptional lineup of artists, scholars and musicians. Not surprisingly, Dromid community hall is one of the prime locations for these talented groups. To date, we have welcomed some well known figures in the world of Irish tradition and culture, inclusive of Breandán Ó Beaglaíoch, Altan and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh to name just a few.
Having the ability to host large crowds, our hostel is the ultimate location for local events such as Scór, bingo and various fundraisers. Crowds travel from far and wide to support these local causes.
Children and adults travel from all parts of South Kerry to take part in music and dance classes. Indeed, our hall is the ideal location for such classes, with a significant performance stage positioned at the top of the hall.
A wide range of community activities take place in the hall, such as soccer, football, fitness classes and various meetings. Dromid community hall is undoubtedly a vital hub that gives people the opportunity to socialise, connect and access key services in our local area.
Our hall is also used by the crèche, the naíonra, the schools programme and the local primary school for all sorts of activities. It is also available to residents of the hostel, being particularly popular for large groups, college societies and school tours.
